This property rents Sunday to Sunday.

All guests must supply their own sheets, towels and beach towels or OPT in for our linen rental package.

Guests must choose to purchase a $70 Vacation Rental Damage Insurance policy covering $3,000.00 in accidental damage, or pay a refundable security deposit of $2,000.00. Policies of a lesser amount are not acceptable. This amount will not be reflected in the quote amount on VRBO.

The property must be occupied for the entire rental period by the Guest signing the Lodging Agreement (Responsible Guest), and all occupants of the Property shall be supervised by the Responsible Guest. The Responsible Guest must be at least 25 years of age. If the party is made up of unrelated individuals (a group rental where the Responsible Guest is NOT the legal guardian/parent of any other guests), ALL guests occupying the property must be at least 25 years of age.

We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover Credit Cards and eChecks for your initial deposit. We also accept personal checks for final payments. Final payments are due 30 days prior to your check-in date. NOTE: Any payments within 30 days of arrival require to be in certified funds or by credit card. You will be provided a link to a Guest Portal where you can securely make your payments online.

VRBO BOOKINGS: This property is hosted by the management company noted as Owner on VRBO. After booking the property you will be charged a booking fee by VRBO. ALL other fees and the rental amount will be charged by the management company and paid to the management company. Once you have booked you will be contacted by the management company and sent a Lodging Agreement that must be signed. Apart from Damage Protection, all fees associated with the booking are displayed in the VRBO booking.

  This house was great! Tucked behind the trees you almost didn't notice it was there. The location was perfect, you could enjoy the beach all day from the top deck or walk right out to the beach. The rooms upstairs were comfortable and clean. And the sun porch is a great place to cozy down and relax. The doors are a little tight to open but every house has its quirks.
  But absolutely perfect hoping to stay again!

  This house is in an excellent location for easily accessing and enjoying a quiet beach, biking up and down Bayshore drive, and driving into Milton and Lewes for more activities and restaurants. The house is older but was sufficient for a family with 6 adults and 2 little ones under 6. Appliances all seemed pretty new but beds not comfy at all. Plenty of kids toys and beach gear available. Pack bug spray.

  This house has a great location literally 1 minute from the Delaware Bay beach, a good layout (which is a little hard to figure out from the photos) and great functionality. Its combination of indoor and outdoor spaces and excellent amenities (kitchen gear, games & beach equipment, TV/wifi, etc) is outstanding, BUT--
  
  there were a couple of big disappointments. The living room furniture and decor look like they've recently been updated, but the best room of the house, the beach-facing screened porch (sunroom), is kind of a mess. There's clouding between the double-glazed sliders, bird **** and cobwebs in the screens, algae on the inside of the railings (some of which are cracked and sagging), and sitting on the sofa is like sinking into a bathtub! This porch is also the only dining area for a big group. The table and benches are nice and new, but we found it hard to enjoy sitting out there to eat as a family due to the condition of the porch structure. (Also, technically the house sleeps 10 but you can't easily seat 10 at this table.) I would not rent this house again until the sunroom is fixed.
  
  The second big detractor from a comfortable vacation was the condition of the upstairs beds. The mattresses were all different (and obviously people's preferences are all different), but each bed was uncomfortable in a different way, and half our party had disturbed sleep because of uncomfortable beds.
  
  Early in our stay we had a blocked toilet in the downstairs bathroom; I made a call to the agent and their guy came out and fixed it within 6 hours--that was very important for an older member of our party who couldn't manage the stairs. We were thankful for that!
  
  A couple of additions that would be a big help:
  *umbrella on upper deck
  *clothesline in the carport for wet towels etc
  *screen slider for middle bedroom upstairs--the ho

    We are sorry the bugs were so bad. Prior to and during your stay, the area has been fraught with extreme numbers of flies in our beach towns. Given the location on the bay with the refuge on the back side, Broadkill and Primehook Beaches have seen the worst of them. The winds, when coming from the land, make the bugs worse. Most often, the area has a bay breeze which keeps them away.

  Since the home was built in 1985, understandably there was some outdated features. Windows, Bathroom tub and carpeting especially. The screened in sun room offered a great view but the screen doors were tapped up with duck tape and could not be opened. The sliding glass doors were very dirty and the white couch could not be sat on. Concerned of the integrity of the home as it swayed and shook when the storm hit. I did some research and that could be a structural issue. When you went up the stairs the king bed shook as well. All the mattresses were old and need replaced. The outside grill was fine, but the storm took it flying down the front stairs! Pleased with the kitchen and the great room with new couch and large flat screen. The outside of the home needs some updating, there is a lot of paint chipping. The car port and outdoor shower were a mess. The accessibility to the beach was nice and easy to maneuver. Left a day early due to the increased winds and rain. Could not sleepy in the home another night.

    It sounds like your stay had some major pros and cons. It's great that you enjoyed the kitchen and great room with the new couch and big screen, plus the accessibility to the beach. But, it sounds like there were a lot of issues with the house itself, especially regarding structural concerns, outdated features, and maintenance issues. The storm seemed to really highlight some of the home's vulnerabilities, like the shaking and the unstable feeling on the stairs and the king bed. That’s definitely concerning. The broken screen doors, dirty sliding glass doors, and old mattresses are definitely signs the place might need a serious update and maintenance work. I'm guessing you were hoping for a relaxing stay, but those concerns would definitely make it hard to enjoy your time there. It’s a shame you had to leave early, but I totally understand why you'd feel that way with the storm and your concerns about the integrity of the home. The issues were presented to the owner and he has been making positive changes based on such feedback.

The lack of fire alarms and safety concerns with the outdoor steps definitely need to be addressed, as those are important for safety.
