Welcome to The Whitehouse. Enjoy everything that a Lewes Beach vacation has to offer from this 3 story home. 500 ft to the beach, walking distance to Dairy Queen and Downtown Lewes. The bike trail to Cape Henlopen State Park is also only a few blocks away. Park your car when you arrive in one of our 4 off street parking spots and never need it again.

The Whitehouse provides plenty of room for your large group to spread out and relax. 7 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, 4 decks and an open living area. The entire house has been freshly painted and upgraded in 2022, new beds, appliances, beverage center, outdoor shower, furnishings and more.

1st Floor:

* 4 bedrooms: 2 large masters with King beds, 2 bunk rooms (1 with twin bunk and 1 with full/twin bunk)

2nd Floor:

• 2 Living room areas with a 65” Smart TV, sectional sofa, love seats and club chair seating.

• Dining area with room for 10

* Fully stocked Kitchen with NEW APPLIANCES, new quartz countertops, and all new dinnerware, glasses, small appliances, etc.

• Beverage Center- located in the hallway just off the kitchen. Keep all your kid AND adult drinks ice cold in the 2 beverage refrigerators and space to store other bar items.

• Master bedroom with a King bed

• Full bathroom with shower

* Relaxing decks front and back with views of the glade

3rd Floor:

• 2 bedrooms:
• Bedroom 1:Queen and Full bed
• Bedroom 2: 2 full beds and one trundle bed (twin/twin) AND a bonus vanity complete with sink, mirror and outlets allows for extra space for your “tweens” to get ready!

All guests must supply their own sheets, towels and beach towels or OPT in for our linen rental package.

Guests must choose to purchase a $70 Vacation Rental Damage Insurance policy covering $3,000.00 in accidental damage, or pay a refundable security deposit of $2,000.00. Policies of a lesser amount are not acceptable. This amount will not be reflected in the quote amount on VRBO.

The property must be occupied for the entire rental period by the Guest signing the Lodging Agreement (Responsible Guest), and all occupants of the Property shall be supervised by the Responsible Guest. The Responsible Guest must be at least 25 years of age. If the party is made up of unrelated individuals (a group rental where the Responsible Guest is NOT the legal guardian/parent of any other guests), ALL guests occupying the property must be at least 25 years of age.

We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover Credit Cards and eChecks for your initial deposit. We also accept personal checks for final payments. Final payments are due 30 days prior to your check-in date. NOTE: Any payments within 30 days of arrival require to be in certified funds or by credit card. You will be provided a link to a Guest Portal where you can securely make your payments online.

VRBO BOOKINGS: This property is hosted by the management company noted as Owner on VRBO. After booking the property you will be charged a booking fee by VRBO. ALL other fees and the rental amount will be charged by the management company and paid to the management company. Once you have booked you will be contacted by the management company and sent a Lodging Agreement that must be signed. Apart from Damage Protection, all fees associated with the booking are displayed in the VRBO booking.

  We experienced a leak in one of the rooms. Property needs upkeep. I’ll leave it at that.

    The guests did not notify us until the third and last day of their stay and we had the owner out to survey the leak that afternoon. She then asked the guests not to use the shower that was causing the leak and she scheduled a plumber to be there the next morning at 10AM. The guest was reimbursed $200 for their inconvenience.

  We enjoyed a wonderful week of extended family fun. The big kids tackled the waves at the “Big Beach” in Cape Henlopen State Park. The little kids frolicked at the “Little Beach” two blocks from our rental. Some days, we all assembled at each beach. Downtown Lewes is close and fun with great shops, an ice cream parlor and good restaurants. Everybody walked or rode bicycles. Every evening three generations supped around the kitchen table. The “Little Beach” at dusk affords fabulous family photo opportunities.

  This is a great house for a family that needs a lot of bedrooms, has a dog, and wants to walk to beach and town. We had 4 sets of adults and two little kids and everyone had their own room with a bedroom to spare. Tons of sleeping space! The mattresses/pillows are ok and could probably use an upgrade. The house was generally clean at check in but could use a solid deep clean (dust blinds, vacuum under furniture etc) and we noted some upgrades since prior reviews (deck furniture, kitchen being stocked with more tools, etc). The view off the back deck was amazing and the quick walk to the beach was so convenient. You do have to cross a street that can sometimes be busy/speedy and notably most drivers dont stop for peds (not the owners fault but just noting for families with kids). Some parts of the house are starting to show a bit of wear but it is overall a really great house and the beverage center is a really great idea! My one comment that should be addressed asap is the bbq has a metal wire cleaning brush. Once we saw this we decided not to use the grill due to risk of loose wires on grill. Please change your grill cleaning device to something safer for your renters. Just a few things but such a dreamy town with access to wonderful beaches and bike paths. The Lewes Oyster House in town is AMAZING and the main street full of shops was really quaint and almost felt like New England, so much charm. We really enjoyed our stay and Lewes is a great vacation spot!

  This true 7 BR home is a great choice for families who want to be very close to the calm beach waters in Lewes as well as the downtown restaurants, shops, and waterside park that this town has to offer. The house was just as described. The limited stairway entrances means it's easier than most homes to navigate with toddlers. Note that there are only 3 bathrooms, but there's 1 on each floor. Multiple decks, plenty of space to "get away."

  Great location for a family getaway. This is a large nicely renovated house with room for different family groups or a friends and family gathering. steps to the beach with amenities close by. one nit pick: the house could benefit from two different HVAC systems. the temperature difference between first and third floor was extreme.
  Most people and store owners in the area very friendly and welcoming, a couple of cold shoulders seemed racially motivated to our mixed race extended family group but nothing tragic or insurmountable. it's life right now
