Welcome to "The Artist's Cottage"!! Quaint historic home featuring beautiful local artwork on a quiet Lewes street. Only two blocks to down town shops and restaurants and a short drive to Lewes Beach. The first floor has the living area, large open kitchen and dining as well as a bedroom and full bathroom. The upstairs of this home was remodeled in 2019 to include new carpet, new air conditioning, sitting area at the top of the steps, which is a perfect reading spot, as well as two more bedrooms and a beautiful large bathroom with tiled shower.

This property is available with a three night minimum all year long. Please ask your agent for details.

All guests must supply their own sheets, towels and beach towels or OPT in for our linen rental package.

Guests must choose to purchase a $70 Vacation Rental Damage Insurance policy covering $3,000.00 in accidental damage, or pay a refundable security deposit of $2,000.00. Policies of a lesser amount are not acceptable. This amount will not be reflected in the quote amount on VRBO.

The property must be occupied for the entire rental period by the Guest signing the Lodging Agreement (Responsible Guest), and all occupants of the Property shall be supervised by the Responsible Guest. The Responsible Guest must be at least 25 years of age. If the party is made up of unrelated individuals (a group rental where the Responsible Guest is NOT the legal guardian/parent of any other guests), ALL guests occupying the property must be at least 25 years of age.

We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover Credit Cards and eChecks for your initial deposit. We also accept personal checks for final payments. Final payments are due 30 days prior to your check-in date. NOTE: Any payments within 30 days of arrival require to be in certified funds or by credit card. You will be provided a link to a Guest Portal where you can securely make your payments online.

VRBO BOOKINGS: This property is hosted by the management company noted as Owner on VRBO. After booking the property you will be charged a booking fee by VRBO. ALL other fees and the rental amount will be charged by the management company and paid to the management company. Once you have booked you will be contacted by the management company and sent a Lodging Agreement that must be signed. Apart from Damage Protection, all fees associated with the booking are displayed in the VRBO booking.

  This cottage is just a short walk to 2nd street where all the great shopping and restaurants are. The street was very quiet. It was very hot and humid when we were in Lewes so we didn't get to utilize all of the outdoor spaces as much as we wanted. For those of you who would be interested, there is a handicapped parking spot in front of the house and a ramp to get into house as well. It was perfect for us bc my Mom uses a walker

  Great house and location. Our second time renting. Property description is accurate. The house is rundown and the overall cleanliness is not good. It's a comfortable house but needs a lot of TLC. Owners live outside the DelMarVa area and they rely on locals and real estate company to maintain which is not happening unless a tenant gives feedback. Our first year we gave feedback and hoped for a better experience the second time but not the case. Love the house/location but for the money we won't be returning. I would not recommend unless the issues are rectified.

  Cute, quirky cottage. Disappointed with cleanliness of cottage upon arrival. Quality of furnishings throughout was poor and uncomfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with nice appliances. Washer could not accommodate towels. Construction each day adjacent to the sliding glass doors, porch area. Porch was in ill repair.

  The location for this house was great. Quiet street and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. However, we vacationed during an extremely hot week (real feel over 100) and the A/C doesn’t work properly. During the day the second floor (which has incredibly low ceilings) was over 80 degrees. It was very frustrating. Also, when someone took a shower the front entry smelled like sewage - not desirable. The house itself was cute, we loved the antiques, and artwork. Also, I wish the house had a keyless entry - picking up and dropping off keys was annoying. Communication with the rental company leading up to our stay was not good. I would probably not rent one of their homes in the future.

  The Artist’s Cottage met all our expectations. It was comfortable, clean, and beautifully maintained and upon our arrival we were welcomed by an adorable surprise at the top of the stairs (I won’t spoil it). The location was perfect - a short walk into town, close to a neighborhood park, and we enjoyed walking the streets and seeing the beautiful historic homes. It is also walking distance to MANY great restaurants, although Heirloom was amazing! Make a reservation in advance!

  Adorable, “well loved” cottage close to town. We rented in February ‘22, assuming it would be quiet. Had no idea demolition would be going on in the back yard! Assume new build will occur soon! The property itself does not have an attentive cleaning company. Musty/mold odors in laundry/bath/front bedroom. Numerous kitchen items dirty or unusable. No hairdryer!

  We have stayed in many rental units over the years, and our stay at the Artist's Cottage ranks high among them. It is a lovely home, very well located and stocked with all that we needed. We walked downtown for shopping and dining, walked to church on Sunday morning, drove around to see the Christmas lights and otherwise enjoyed being together in this quaint cottage. We would love to return some time!
